MEET PLANTHROPIE!

This weekend we celebrated the launch of Planthropie, a completely plant based food and raw dessert company, started by my friend Rua Oshana. The beauty of Planthropie is that not only do they make absolutely gorgeous, delicious food, but they also have a mission of giving back to the community and teaching local Detroiters about the importance of nourishing and caring for their bodies with a plant based diet.

Rua hosted the launch at Femology. Created by Meagan Ward, Femology is a female driven co-working, collaboration and event space in Detroit. It's an absolutely gorgeous restored brownstone on Jefferson Ave. in the heart of downtown. It was the perfect backdrop for Planthropie's gorgeous food spread!

Rua and her team of super talented family members (mom, sister and hubs!) put out the most beautiful spread for about 40 of Detroit's most creative, innovative and inspiring women. Everyone came together to share their stories and passions while sampling all of Rua's fabulous creations! Even the few omnivores in the crowd were raving about about all the vegan offerings. The menu included a completely plant based charcuterie spread, mac n' cheese, "neat"balls with marinara and fresh basil, Planthropie's signature slider, along with an abundance of dessert offerings like an assortment of raw cheesecakes and bliss balls! It was absolutely decadent.

It was truly the most wonderful afternoon. I was so grateful to not only to enjoy all the amazing food, but to get to know so many strong, empowered Detroit women! So many whom I had admired from afar (hello, Instagram!) I finally got to meet in person, and they were all absolutely LOVELY! I left feeling so inspired to continue bolstering this beautiful community and working together to support each other however we can! Huge thanks to Rua and the team at Planthropie for having me! Looking forward to all the exciting things to come!
