As the holidays seem to be approaching at the speed of light, I thought I'd put together a list gift ideas that can be purchased locally (most can be ordered online as well). Maybe this will help avoid some of that last minute gift buying panic, or is that just me?! Bonus, nearly all of these gifts ring in at under $50.

For the hostess with the mostess:
Trader Joe's Olive Wood Cutting Board
Available at most Trader Joe's locations (mine is from Bloomfield)

This perfectly sized, ultra-chic olive wood cutting board was just under $12. I think it would make a perfect hostess gift for a holiday party. Pair it with some vegan cheese (Treeline is my fave), water crackers and a bottle of wine to be an extra memorable guest!

For the foodie:
4 Detroit Cookbook
Available in person at Nora: 4240 Cass Ave, Detroit, MI 48201

4 Detroit is a cookbook featuring recipes from the founding chefs of Gold Cash Gold, Takoi, Supino, and Selden Standard. Each chef tackles one of the four seasons, and creates a stunning meal based around it. While this book isn't fully plant based, it does offer quite a wide variety of vegan (or veganizable) dishes. It's just a beautiful book to enjoy, and the best part is that $5 from the sale of every book goes to Gleaners Community Food Bank to help those in need.

For the homebody:
Detroit Rose Candle
Available a ton of places in Detroit, and nationwide! View a complete list here.

I have a passionate love for Detroit Rose candles. The Campfire scent was burning in my house all fall, and I just snagged the custom Village Parlor scent during my recent hair cut with Ryan Cotton. Their candles burn so nicely and are made of non-toxic soy way. I think the Pine or Mistletoe scents would make for amazing holiday gifts.

For the fashion killa:
Angela Roi bag
Available Online Only

I have personally invested in both the Madeline Mini Bucket (above) and the Cher Tote, and can attest to the quality and durability of Angela Roi bags. Not only that, but all her bags are made of this luxurious, BELIEVABLE, vegan leather. I especially like the pebble collection.

For the fitness guru:
Core Revolution Gift Card
Available at 555 S. Old Woodward Ave, 21L Birmingham MI, 48009

I recently had my introduction to spin at Core Revolution, and suffice it to say, I'm OBSESSED. The studio is super welcoming (no elitist spin attitude), and all levels are welcome. My best girlfriends got me the gift of a month of unlimited classes for my birthday and I was so grateful. The gift of good health can't be beat!

For the friend who loves the Kardashian/Jenners (even though they might not admit it):
The Lip Bar Liquid Matte Lipstick
Available in person at 8019 Agnes St. Detroit, MI 48214

Who doesn't love rocking a good lip?
The Lip Bar offers an amazing range of lip colors, all without unnecessary chemicals like so many cosmetics companies include. Plus, let's support local women - I think Kylie will do just fine without our business!

For the person who has it all:
A donation in their name to one of these amazing, local causes!

Barn Sanctuary
Almost Home No Kill Shelter
Forgotten Harvest
Humble Design

Me and my sweet pup, Bug, the day we met at Almost Home No Kill Shelter.
There are so many wonderful organizations that could use our support, especially during the long and cold winter months. How awesome let a friend or family member know that someone in need was given this gift in their honor. Isn't that what the holidays are really all about?

  1. voodoo love spell specialist I am so happy to read this. This is the kind of manual that needs to be given and not the random misinformation that's at the other blogs.
